George Iliopoulos joined the new Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority in September 2021 and was appointed as Head of the Governor’s Office in December 2021 and Head of the Quality and Compliance Monitoring Section in January 2024.
Member of the EASA Member States Advisory Body (MAB), the ICAO European Region Aviation System Planning Group (EASPG), the Commission Expert Group on Aviation Safety and the Committee for the Application of Common Safety Rules in the field of Civil Aviation of the European Commission.
He worked for thirteen years in the former Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority in aerodrome operations, safety management and aviation security at Skiathos Airport and in the field of aerodrome certification and oversight at the Aerodromes’ Division of the HCAA Headquarters, while also serving as an instructor in aviation security in the School of Civil Aviation.
He holds a university degree in Chemistry and a postgraduate degree in Quality Management.
