The imposition of public service obligations on air services within Greece, in accordance with the provisions of EC 1008/2008, has ensured appropriate levels of air service, having made a significant contribution to the lifting of isolation and to the enhancement of the development of the regions concerned.

The specific routes have been perceived as successful by the local communities, as they have ensured continuous and uninterrupted air connection throughout the year, in the remote island and mainland regions of the country, on air services of low commercial interest.
