Single European Sky

The Single European Sky is an initiative of the European Union aiming at the implementation of a common transport policy. For the materialization of the Single European Sky, extensive and comprehensive legislation has been adopted and is implemented.

The Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority, within the framework of the responsibilities given to it by its founding law (law 4757/2020-Government Gazette A'240), is the "national supervisory authority" referred to in Regulation (EC) 549/2004 (the framework Regulation),  Regulation (EC) No 550/2004 (the service provision Regulation), in the Implementing Regulation (EU), Regulation (EC) No 1070/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 October 2009 amending Regulations (EC) No 549/2004, (EC) No 550/2004, (EC) No 551/2004 and (EC) No 552/2004 in order to improve the performance and sustainability of the European aviation system, Commission Regulation (EC) No 2017/373 of 1 March 2017 laying down common requirements for air traffic / service management service providers and other functions of the air traffic management and surveillance network and Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/317 of 11 February 2019 laying down a performance and charging scheme in the Single European sky and repealing Implementing Regulations (EU) No 390/2013 and (EU) No 391/2013.
