Aviation Safety Reporting

One of the most important factors in improving aviation safety is the detection of hazards that under certain conditions can lead to an air accident or serious incident. A tool for hazard identification is the monitoring and analysis of safety incidents, which may not have had a significant impact on safety, but could lead to an accident under different circumstances. This method of detection is called "proactive" and has been adopted by ICAO and the European Union.

European Regulation (EU) 376/2014, and Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1018, apply to the reporting, collection, storage, protection, exchange, dissemination, and analysis of safety incidents and taking appropriate actions and measures to mitigate or eliminate the risk.
