Signature of the ECQB agreement between EASA and HCAA - June 2022

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA), represented by the Executive Director, Mr. Patrick Ky, and the Governor/DGCA, Dr. Christos Tsitouras, respectively, have signed an Agreement on the functioning of the European Central Question Bank (ECQB).

The Agreement was signed on the sidelines of the EASA Management Board meeting on June 2nd 2022 at the EASA premises in Cologne, Germany and is considered as a milestone that will allow the HCAA to conduct theoretical examinations of flight crew.

The ECQB is an important standardisation and safety tool, ensuring that pilots at European level have the appropriate knowledge and necessary competencies. The question bank today is under the responsibility of EASA, and the National Competent Authorities (NCAs) are responsible for the exams using the ECQB.

More information on the ECQB can be found here.
