Meeting with representatives of the Civil Aviation Agency of Georgia on issues related to the implementation of European Regulations/ Spata/ May 7th, 2025

On 7 May 2025, a meeting with representatives of the Civil Aviation Authority of Georgia was held at HCAA Premises on issues related to Council Regulation No. 95/93 of 18 January 1993 on common rules for the allocation of slots at Community airports.

In particular, HCAA was visited by Messrs. Aleksandre Gachechildze – Deputy Director, CAA of Georgia,  Mindia Mindiashvili – Head of Air Transportation Department, CAA of Georgia, Irakli Bakradze – Chief Specialist of the Air Transportation Department, CAA of Georgia, in the context of the Common Aviation Area Agreement between EU and its Member States and Georgia, in order to be informed by HCAA executives about the implementation of Regulation 95/93 in Greece. Particular emphasis was given to the role of HCAA in the implementation of the Regulation, the Provision on national rules for the allocation of slots at Greek airports as well as the imposition of financial sanctions in cases of violations.

On the part of the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority, experts from the Economic Oversight Division as well as the Section for the Oversight of Concession Agreements, Performance Plan, Airport and Air Navigation Fees and Charges, which is responsible for the implementation and monitoring of Regulation 95/93 as a National Authority, attended.

The meeting was held in an excellent atmosphere and there was a strong interest from the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency for cooperation in other air transport sectors as well.

The delegation from the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency also participated in the event for the 3 years of operation of HCAA and had a private meeting with the Governor of HCAA, Dr. Christos Tsitouras.
