The first meeting of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Management Board for 2026 (MB 2026-01) was held on 2–3 June 2026 at the Agency’s headquarters in Cologne, Germany. Greece was represented by the Governor of the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA), Dr. Christos Tsitouras, accompanied by the Head of the Governor’s Office, Mr. George Iliopoulos.

The Management Board received updates on EASA’s activities under its five strategic priorities—SAFE, GLOBAL, GREEN, INNOVATIVE, and RESILIENT—and discussed key safety challenges facing the European aviation system.

Members were also briefed by EUROCONTROL on the strengthened cooperation framework between the two organisations, which has evolved into a structured programme of joint activities following a successful pilot phase.

In addition, the Board reviewed EASA’s international partnerships, including its cooperation with ICAO and aviation authorities worldwide, while discussing the impact of sustainability goals, technological innovation, digitalisation, and artificial intelligence on the future of aviation and the corresponding regulatory and oversight requirements.
