The Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) participated in the 65th Session of the EUROCONTROL Provisional Council (PC/65), held in Brussels, with the participation of representatives from the Organization’s member states and focusing on the strategic priorities for the future of European aviation. Greece was represented by the Governor of the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority, Dr. Christos Tsitouras.
During the session, participants reviewed the progress of the implementation of the “Trajectory 2030” strategy, which serves as EUROCONTROL’s roadmap for the modernization and performance enhancement of the European air traffic management system. They also assessed the network’s level of preparedness for the 2026 summer season, as well as the progress of major transformation programmes of the Organization, including the Integrated Network Management (iNM) programme and the development of EUROCONTROL’s new Innovation Hub in Saclay, France.
The agenda also included discussions on the Organization’s financial outlook, support for Ukraine, and the presentation of the joint EUROCONTROL–EASA Action Plan aimed at strengthening the resilience of aviation operations against interference affecting Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS).
The session also marked the beginning of the term of the new President of the Provisional Council, Karin Puleo-Leodolter, Director General of Civil Aviation of Austria, as well as the new Chairman of the EUROCONTROL Permanent Commission, Wilhelm Eschweiler, Director General of Civil Aviation of Germany.
Greece’s participation in the work of the EUROCONTROL Provisional Council—the pan-European civil and military organization whose mission is to make air transport safer, more efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable—is of particular importance. It highlights the commitment of Greece and, the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority to actively contribute to the multifaceted development and strengthening of the European aviation sector.
