The Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) continues the certification process of the airports operated by the Hellenic Aviation Service Provider (HASP), with the issuance of three more certificates.
Following the certification of the state airports of Heraklion and Alexandroupolis that took place on 21st January, an Airport Certificate was issued for the state airports of Ioannina, Syros and Milos on Friday January 31st 2025.
The Certificates were delivered by the Governor of the HCAA, Dr. Christos Tsitouras, to the Airport Managers of the three airports, in the presence of the Governor of the Hellenic Aviation Service Provider, Mr. Georgios Saounatsos, and the Deputy Governor of the Hellenic Aviation Service Provider, Mr. Georgios Vagenas, at a special event held at the HCAA premises.
The certification involves the compliance of these aerodromes with the requirements of the European Union and EASA, ensuring a safe operational environment, and is the result of methodical and systematic cooperation between HCAA and HASP.
The Governor of the HCAA, Dr. Christos Tsitouras, stated: “The second cycle of certifications of state airports managed by the Hellenic Aviation Service Provider is completed today, with the issuance of the Certificates of three more airports. The Certification is the result of a long series of inspections and evaluations of the operational characteristics of the airports of Ioannina, Milos and Syros and is the demonstration of professionalism and organized cooperation between the executives of our two organizations.”
The certification process of the state airports of Kythira, Chios and Sitia is expected to be concluded on February 14th 2025 and the certification of the state airports of Karpathos and Lemnos will follow by the end of February 2025.
