New Year's pie cutting at HCAA / Spata /09.01.2026

On Friday, 9 January 2026, the customary New Year’s cake-cutting ceremony for the staff of the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) took place, in the presence of representatives of the country’s political and religious leadership.

The event was honored by the presence of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Mr. Christos Dimas, the Deputy Minister of Development, Mr. Stavros Kalafatis, as well as His Eminence the Metropolitan of Mesogaia and Lavreotiki, Nikolaos. Also in attendance were the leadership of the Hellenic Aviation Service Provider, prominent representatives of the aviation community and the business sector, and representatives of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff and the Hellenic Police.

The event was opened by the Governor of the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority, Dr. Christos Tsitouras, who, on the occasion of the recent renewal of his term of office, provided a concise overview of the Authority’s work and highlighted the main pillars of its strategic objectives, both as a supervisory and a regulatory body, with primary emphasis on strengthening aviation safety. Subsequently, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport referred to the government’s priorities for the aviation sector and to the Ministry’s commitment to the continuous upgrading of civil aviation in the country.

The event concluded with the blessing of the New Year and the cutting of the traditional new year’s pie by His Eminence the Metropolitan of Mesogaia and Lavreotiki, who extended his warm wishes for the year ahead.
