Marina Basimakopoulou

Marina Basimakopoulou has been a member of Civil Aviation Authority since its establishment, in January 2022. She is the Head of ATM/ANS Oversight, Regulations and Certification Section, which has as its main responsibilities, among others, the Certification and Continuing Oversight of Air Traffic Management & Air Navigation Services (ATM/ANS), the preparation and issuance of Regulations, as well as the monitoring of international and European developments in the aviation sector and participation in the respective Organizations that legislate with regards to ATM/ANS Services, in order to formulate the national positions on the above issues.

She is a graduate of the Department of Biology, School of Applied Sciences, National & Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds a Master’s degree from University of London (King’s College, MSc Nutrition) and Athens University of Business & Economics (AUEB, MSc Human Resources Management, with Honor’s). She is a PhD Student at National Technical University of Athens in the Topic of Sociology of Technology & Applied Ethics and she is an ATPL (A) Student Pilot.

She has worked from 2001 until his transfer to HCAA, in the Hellenic Aviation Services Provider as an Air Traffic Controller, at Athens-Makedonia Area Control Centers, and served in the same Directorate as Safety & Quality Focal Point, Safety Assessor & Safety Investigator, On- the –Job Training Instructor as well as Human Factors Theoretical Instructor at all stages of Air Traffic Controllers’ and of other staff training, inside and outside of Unit. She has extensive experience in the Evaluation & Management of Changes and ATM/ANS Incidents, as well as in Safety issues such as Just Culture and Human Perfomance in Aviation Environment. She holds certain Certifications in all the above areas, indicatively, Lead Auditor ELOT EN ISO 9001: 2015, Project Management Institute- Agile Certified Practitioner, (PMI-ACP).
