Kalliopi Lykou joined the new Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority in September 2021 and was appointed as General Director of Economic Oversight and Administrative Support in December 2021.

She holds a BSc in Economics, from the University of Piraeus and an MSc in International and European Economic Studies with specialization in European Union Competition Law, from the Athens University of Economics and Business. She is currently a researcher on EU competition and regulation issues with main field of study the airport and air navigation charges (University of Piraeus, School of Economics, Business and International studies). She is an Accredited Mediator (Ministry of Justice).

She is Member of the Single Sky Committee, Member of EUROCONTROL’s Provisional Council, Member of the Just Culture Committee of the HCAA , Member of  the EC Experts Group Aviation Internal Market, Member of  the EU Experts Group on Aviation Agreements and served as Chair of European Commission Group of Experts on airport charges, Thessaloniki Forum of Airport Charges Regulators. She is also Member of the Hellenic Institute of Internal Auditors and Member of the Economic Chamber of Greece.

She started her career in the former Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority, in 1999. From 2014 up to 2020, she was appointed as Head of Accounting Section and garnered in-depth knowledge of civil aviation economics, forecasting, airport concession agreements, economic regulation, aeronautical and air navigation charges, state aid, recovery and enforcement measures on default payments and also of European and International aviation - both from financial and political point of view.

She has full professional proficiency in English and limited working proficiency in Italian and Spanish.
