Dipl.-Ing. Ioannis Tertigkas joined the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority in January 2022 and was appointed Head of the Aircraft Registry and Airworthiness Section at the Flight Standards Directorate in February 2022.

The main purpose of the Department is the regulatory management and inspection of all Continuous Shipping Management Agencies, Aircraft Maintenance Agencies, Aircraft Engineering Training Agencies, the control / inspection of Aircraft for the issuance of Certificates of Airworthiness and Continuing Airworthiness Certificates, the issuance of Certification of Registry and maintain of the relevant Register, as well the issuance / renewal of Aircraft Station Licenses.

From February 1995 to December 2021 he worked at the Civil Aviation Authority as an Airworthiness Inspector in the Technical Operations Control Unit, in the Inspections Division and in the Flight Standards Division (Airworthiness and Flight Operations Section).

Has extensive experience in drafting regulations, procedures and technical instructions/orders as well as in implementing and supervising the implementation of the relevant International, European and National legislation governing Civil Aviation in areas such as Aircraft Airworthiness, Maintenance and Aircraft Continuous Aviation Organizations etc.

Has extensive experience in implementing and overseeing the implementation of relevant International, European and National legislation governing Civil Aviation.

He has participated in EASA working groups and conferences as an expert and as a representative of the CAA, as well as in EASA international missions as an inspector to verify Member States' compliance with the Organization's international standards in the field of safety.

He holds the title of “Diplom Ingenieur”, (Dipl.-Ing) of the Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics of the Technical University of Berlin, Germany, in Aeronautical Engineering

He speaks English and German

He is holder of an EASA-Part 66 category "C" Aircraft Maintenance License, for various types of Airplanes and Helicopters

He is holder of Private Pilot License (PPL (A), EASA Part-FCL )
