A. Aircraft maintenance licenses are issued in accordance with Part-66 which provides a common standard in all Member States of the European Union.
Prerequisites:
1. For initial granting of a basic aircraft maintenance license you will need to submit:
- The application (Form 19) completed with the fields you desire and signed.
- The payment form with code 8776.
- Photocopy of ID or passport.
- Photocopy of the educational training.
- Photocopy of successful examinations of the courses (modules) of the respective category by an organization Part 147 or by a competent authority of a Member State.
- Photocopy of the practical work in a personal experience logbook or the «Engineer’s Personal Experience Record Log».
2. For change of the aircraft maintenance license (addition of category/subcategory or alteration of personal details) you will need to submit:
- The application (Form 19) completed with the fields you desire and signed.
- The payment form with code 8777.
- Photocopy of successful examinations of the modules (Certificate of Recognition) of the respective category/subcategory by an organization Part 147 or by a competent authority of a Member State.
- Photocopy of the practical work in a personal experience logbook.
3. For change of the aircraft maintenance license (aircraft type addition) you will need to submit:
- The application (Form 19) completed with the fields you desire and signed.
- The payment form with code 8777.
- Photocopy of successful examinations of theoretical and practical courses (Certificate of Recognition) of aircraft type from an organization Part 147.
- Photocopy of the On Job Training (O.J.T.) by an organization Part 145 for the first type of aircraft in the respective category / subcategory only.
4. To replace the aircraft maintenance license (due to damage, loss or theft) you will need to submit:
- The application (Form 19) completed with the fields you desire, the reason of the application and signed.
- The payment form with code 8778.
5. To renew the aircraft maintenance license due to expiration you will need to submit:
- The application (Form 19) completed with the fields you desire and signed.
- The payment form with code 8779.
B. Verification of License details upon request, to airlines or to Authorities of Civil Aviation inside and outside the European Union.
Prerequisites:
- In order to verify the details of an aircraft maintenance license, the airline or the Civil Aviation Authority outside the European Union will need to send its request to the Licensing department at the following e-mail address: [email protected] with the details of the license holder (Name, Surname, license number)
G. Recognition of courses of technological institutes for exemption from examinations in courses for the granting of a basic aircraft maintenance license.
The Civil Aviation Authority recognizes course examinations for the issuance of basic aircraft maintenance license based on Annex III (Part-66) of the European Regulation (No. 1321/2014) that have been conducted in the following educational institutions:
a) The Technological Educational Institute of Central Greece - Department of Aircraft Engineering.
Prerequisites:
- The application (Form 19) completed with the fields you desire and signed.
- Photocopy of ID or passport.
- Photocopy of the Certificate of studies of the Technological Educational Institute.
- Photocopy of the analytical examination marks.
D. Recognition of aviation experience outside civil aviation.
The Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority recognizes experience in non-civil aviation aircraft up to 2 years in applicants who have served in Greek military corps.
Prerequisites:
- The application (Form 19) completed with the fields you want and signed.
- Photocopy of military ID.
- Photocopy of the military technical school of graduation.
- Photocopy of the works performed (Personal Maintenance Experience Log Book (PMER)).
