High level conference on drones- EASA/Amsterdam/21-22 March 2023

On March 21 & 22, the High-Level Conference on Drones was held in Amsterdam on the theme: Back to the future of safe UAS operations. The conference was organized under the auspices of EASA, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency. The HCAA Governor, Dr. Christos Tsitouras, represented Greece, accepting a personal invitation from Mr. Patrick Ky, Executive Director of EASA.

The two-day EASA High-Level Conference on Drones took place during Amsterdam Drone Week, which is the global platform for sharing knowledge on innovation and regulations related to the UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System) industry.

The conference brought together regulatory bodies and industry experts from all over the world which discussed the following issues:

  • UAS Regulation implementation
  • Review of lessons learned, challenges and opportunities
  • Building IAM ecosystem
  • Setting up a realistic implementation programme implementation
  • Implementing U-space
  • Airspace integration steps

The participants concluded that the achievements jointly made in recent years, have led Europe to hold a leading place in the UAS field and committed themselves to the continuation and intensification of efforts to achieve the sector’s targets on a global scale.
