HCAA representative elected as Vice-chairperson in ICAO/CAEP Technical Committee.

HCAA proudly announces that during the 1st Steering Group Meeting ICAO/CAEP, which took place on December 2022 in Sao Paolo, the Greek Member, Dr. Georgia Lykou, Head of Environmental Protection Regulation and Oversight Section of HCAA, was elected to act as a vice-chairperson of the ICAO/CAEP Technical Committee during the 13th working cycle (CAEP/13), while Mr. Kevin Welsh, the USA CAEP Member, was elected as the chairperson

The Committee on Aviation Environmental Protection (CAEP) is a technical committee of the ICAO Council established in 1983. CAEP assists the ICAO Council in formulating new policies and adopting new Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) related to aircraft noise and emissions, and more generally to aviation environmental impact.

CAEP is composed of 31 Members States from all regions around the world and 21 Observers, while more than 600 internationally-renowned experts are involved in CAEP activities and working groups.  As of January 2022, GREECE is represented by new established Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) as active Member of ICAO/CAEP Technical Committee.
