John Gennimatas is a senior Air Force Officer that retired with the grade of Lieutenant General following a successful forty-year career.  During his tenure, he has served in several demanding command posts providing every effort to lead, mentor and prepare next generation officers to lead, plan and apply critical thinking across the spectrum of joint operational, multi-national and combined operations. 

For more than 3 years, he served as the HAF Liaison Officer with Air 1.4, at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station, in FL, USA where he assisted and advised the GR HAF on procedures and processes implemented by the US Navy as regards to aircrafts and engine upkeep (mainly aircrafts A/TA-7, T-2 and T-6).   He also served as Commander of the only state-owned aircraft factory of the Hellenic Air Force (KEA) as well as in charge of Aircraft Quality Assurance positions in the Air Support Command (ASC). 

As a Major General, he served as Director of C’ Branch Support and Logistics at the Hellenic Ministry of Defense where he directly lead a 180-person branch responsible for providing a myriad of logistical, supply and financial functions required to support the Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force) and supervised the formulation, planning and execution of the Armed Forces yearly budget and implemented several procurement and/or negotiations procedures for contracting supplies and equipment for the Armed Forces.  He has served as National Representative in various International Committees such as NATO Response Forces (NRF), NATO Logistics Committee, Military Airworthiness Authority,  PESCO Logistics Committtee, LOGFAS programme, NOBLE JUMP 17. 

Ioannis Gennimatas is a graduate of the Air Force Academy, Department of Aviation Engineering and speaks fluent English
