Vasileios Vasilaros joined the new Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority in December 2021 and was appointed Head of the newly established Section of “Regulations, Oversight and Certification of Aerodromes and Water Aerodromes” in February 2022. The main goal of the Section is to ensure the safe operations of aerodrome operators, water aerodrome operators and ground-handling agents.

He worked for 13 years in the old Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority gaining significant experience in areas such as: Airport Operations, Aerodrome Emergency Planning, Aerodrome Certification and Oversight, Aerodrome Safeguarding.

He has experience in drafting and reviewing manuals and procedures and aerodrome infrastructure verification of compliance. He represents HCAA in EASA ADR TeB.

He holds a BSc degree in Applied Informatics from University of Macedonia as well as two MSc degrees in "Management" from Lancaster University and "Economics" from University of Athens and Athens University of Economics and Business.
