Olga Mallia joined the Civil Aviation Authority in December 2021 and was appointed Head of the Aviation Security Section of the Aviation Security and Environmental Protection Division.  Responsibilities of this Section are, amongst others, participation at European and international level in the development of legislation regarding aviation security,  development of national regulation and standards of aviation security and monitoring of aviation security standards for airports and waterways.

She worked for 33 years for the Civil Aviation Authority, first as an Airport Officer at airports (1988 - 2001) and following that,  for the Aviation Security Division (2001-2021) where in addition to her duties related to the development of security standards for air carriers and the drafting of national regulations and procedures she also served as Inspector of aviation security standards (2005-2021). She was also Security Trainer of the Civil Aviation Training School (2002-2021).
