ANTONAKOU Georgia joined the new Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority in December 2021 and was appointed Head of the “Air Carriers’ security, Cybersecurity and Equipment Security Section” in February 2022.

She worked for 38 years in the old Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority, first as employee in the ‘Information Section’ (1983-1987), then as airport operations officer in Athens and Rhodes airports and from 1996 to 2021 as security inspector in AVSEC Division. From 2015 she was acting Head of the «AVSEC Training and licensing Section» gaining significant experience in areas such as private security companies licensing as well as evaluation of training syllabus

   She is ECAC certified auditor since 2001, ICAO certified auditor since 2003 and European Commission security inspector since 2003, she has participated as Team Member and Team Leader in security audits/inspection at more than 28 international airports worldwide. She is ICAO certified instructor since 1996 and has participated as an instructor in ECAC’s TAIEX Assistance Programme as well as in the Hellenic Civil Aviation Training Institute from 1996 to 2019. 

She has extensive experience in carrying out security audits and inspections at airports and airport installations.
