Training of HCAA executives by TÜV HELLAS (TÜV NORD)

 

More than 50 employees of the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority were trained by TÜV HELLAS (TÜV NORD) through a series of seminars on topics related to Quality Management Systems as Internal and Chief Inspectors.

Specifically, as part of the training of Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority’s executives, four seminars were held on the ISO 9001:2015 International Standard with the subject “Chief Inspector of Quality Management Systems, IRCA/CQI Approved” lasting 40 hours each.  In addition, four more seminars were held in the same audience on the subject of “Technical Inspections of Quality Management Systems” lasting 16 hours each.

Upon completion of the seminars, the relevant IRCA Certificates (International Register of Certificated Auditors) and Attendance Certificates were awarded to the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority executives who participated in the training.  The award took place at a special event at the Authority’s premises at the Athens International Airport, in the presence of the Governor Mr. Christos Tsitouras, and the executives of TÜV HELLAS (TÜV NORD) Mrs. Vasiliki kalambokidou Vice-President System Certification and Mrs. Kondylia Kontogianni Training & Corporate Communication Manager.

The implementation of these seminars is part of the wider lifelong learning and training program of the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority. In this way, the executives of the Authority follow all the modern developments and stay informed about everything that concerns their academic and professional subject.

It is noted that the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority was officially put into operation in January 2022 and operates as an Independent Administrative Authority, with the aim of regulating and supervising air transport and air navigation, responsibilities that are completely separated from the operational activity of providing air navigation services and airport management.

The purpose of the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority is to carry out the tasks of certification and supervision of air transport, air navigation and airports as well as the application of international, EU and national legislation regarding matters of flight safety, security from illegal actions environmental protection, as well as the regulation of economic activity in the field of aviation, air shipping and airports.

Mrs. Vasiliki Kalambokidou, Vice President System Certification of TÜV HELLAS (TÜV NORD) said: “The aviation industry is of national importance, especially given its contribution to the development of our country.  The role of the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority is pivotal, especially as a regulatory body.  We are particularly proud of our collaboration with the Authority and the realization of a series of particularly demanding seminars.  From this, we confirm the excellent knowledge level of the Authority’s executives, but also the commitment of its management to lifelong learning and training of its staff”.

Mr. Christos Tsitouras, Governor of the Hellenic civil Aviation Authority, stated that:
